Aftermarket Exhaust System
A car, SUV or truck engine is essentially a big air pump. Air goes in, gas is added, ignited and the expanding gases push the piston. And then all that air you pumped into the engine has to come out the other end. A standard engine usually comes with a simple exhaust manifold, which is essentially a big tube that connects the exhaust ports together. It's simple, easy to make, and therefore cheap. It also doesn't help the engine, and there's a better way to ensure that the exhaust exits the engine more smoothly, which helps pump up the power output. And it can be used whether you have a four cylinder engine, a V6, a V8, a V10 or even a V12.
Make Your Car Engine More Efficient
A more efficient engine is a more powerful engine and breathing in and out smoothly is the best way to ensure an engine efficiently fills the cylinders. Headers, or extractors, are specially designed to smooth the flow and even pull the exhaust out of the engine, by making sure the pipes don't form any abrupt bends and by using the exhaust pulses from each cylinder to form low pressure areas in the exhaust which encourages the next exhaust pulse to flow quicker. Unburnt fuel in the headers also helps. With a freer flowing header, the exhaust gases continue to burn and help even more to pull air out of the engine.
